Talent is Hesitant to Connect – What Can I Do?

So your Talent is hesitant to connect. No problem. Companion’s new Connection Journey will explain to them exactly why they have to connect and what we can and cannot see.

If your Talent is still sounding unsure, is confused about it, or even after all of your efforts says no, what can you do?

Keep reassuring them, is what you do.

Common themes in pushback all stem from a generalised lack of trust around platforms. But BDB is a partner they can trust and it’s through the relationships  that each of you hold with your agents and talent, that they’ll realise that or will at least give you a chance to earn it if it isn’t there already.

Here are some responses for you to use that help answer the most common pushbacks that we see:

“We don’t trust or work with third parties” Good news: Companion is not a third party platform. It is Billion Dollar Boy’s proprietary technology, built by Billion Dollar Boy for Billion Dollar Boy. It helps the agency with day-to-day campaign management, simplifying the entire campaign workflow which also includes monitoring the campaign’s performance in real time. So if you’re connected it means we won’t need to ask you to send us screenshots of your insights (which can sometimes take days, even weeks)! We can monitor everything in real time, ensuring KPIs are within reach (=a happy client!), rather than wait until the end of the campaign, after it’s all live, and it’s too late to make any changes if we need to. It should save you and us lots of time. And no more screenshots! What a time to be alive.

“I don’t want you to see my DMs” We don’t want to see your DMs either. And we won’t, because that information is not at all visible to us: your personal information is completely protected under GDPR. The only information we can see is the demographic breakdown of your following (super important especially when working with brands that require a minimum percentage of followers over 18) as well as content performance, such as reach, impressions, engagement rates (if you’ve hidden your likes) and saves.

“I read up on this and I don’t want my personal data to get leaked!” Your personal data is safe and protected by GDPR and our technology is completely secure – besides, all the information we gain from connecting – such as reach and impressions – does not constitute personal data.

“Will I have to be connected forever?” Not at all. You are free to disconnect after the campaign has completely wrapped (your Account Manager will advise you when you’ll be able to do this). However, staying connected means you’ll more likely be considered for our future campaigns. Connecting means we can get the most accurate data on your content performance & follower demographic breakdown when we need them – crucial information for our clients to choose the best talent for their campaigns – without having to ask you for screenshots, and the talent connected on Companion are always considered first. Simply put connection = more opportunities!
